Thom Vink is a Dutch artist. His installations are compriced of drawings, photographs, miniature models, and large-scale installations, where he juxtaposes the subconscious layers of urban architecture, information graphics, as well as natural formations.
Vink makes art in response to the urban spaces he moves around, and to the objects he finds. In his large-scale installations, he draws attention to the physicality of the site, integrating the building’s actual space into the work.

For his drawings, he turns his attention to antiquated ways of obtaining and dispersing information; he is intrigued by images, graphs and narratives, found on the pages of dusty books rather than in the space-less environment of the internet's information highways.

Selecting and rearranging such images, and combining them with video and slide projections, Vink’s works stir up memories of dreams, stories and experiences that feel connected to the body and are remembered in the bones.
Vink maintains a studio at Quartair Contemporary Art Initiatives, The Hague, and spends a major part of the year in India.

Solo and group exhibitions include “Moth House”, Stroom Center for Visual Art and Architecture, The Hague (2010), “Silhouettes and Shadows”, Sinkka Art Museum, Helsinki, Finland (2020), “Wild/Schon”, Emden Kunsthalle,

Germany (2021), and taking part in the exhibition “Jump into the Unknown” during the 56 Biennale of Venice, Italy (2015).

He has participated in group exhibitions, collaborations and artist residencies in many different countries, and most

recently the video installation work “Fields of Dissonance”, has been presented at the Manifesta 12 in Palermo,

Italy (2018) and in the solo exhibition “Up& Down/High& Low” At NIV Art Center, New Delhi,

India (2020).
Vink has received numerous grants since 1995 and his work can be found in the collections of several museums
